Central Philippine University (CPU) bagged 13 prestigious citations during the 4th Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Quality Awards held on May 28, 2025, at the Rose Memorial Auditorium, marking another milestone in its commitment to academic excellence, institutional development, and community service.
These recognitions highlight CPU’s outstanding performance in licensure examinations, global rankings, and impactful initiatives. The awards received are as follows:
1. Recognition to Higher Education Institution for Provision of Support to CHED Gender and Development Regional Office VI (CHEDRO VI) Endeavors
2. Outstanding Board Performance Award – Rank 7 Top Performing School in the November 2024 Chemical Engineering Licensure Examination (83.33%)
3. Outstanding Board Performance Award – Rank 1 Top Performing School in the April 2025 Electronics Technician Licensure Examination (100%)
4. Outstanding Board Performance Award – Rank 7 Top Performing School in the November 2024 Pharmacist Licensure Examination (90.59%)
5. Outstanding Board Performance Award – Rank 4 Top Performing School in the May 2025 Chemical Engineers Computer-Based Licensure Examination (92.31%)
6. World Ranking Award – Quacquarelli Symonds Asia University Rankings (851-900)
7. Autonomous HEI in Region VI Award

The awarding ceremony was graced by CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, along with Engr. Dany C. Molina (Vice President for Administration), Dr. Irving Domingo L. Rio (Vice President for Academic Affairs), Dr. Florence P. Bogacia (Vice President for Finance and Enterprise), and all the academic heads of colleges and departments.
Notably, in the 3rd CHED Regional Quality Awards, CPU also received the following citations: Model Implementer Award for Registrar’s Records, Award for Excellence in NSTP, Award for Excellence in Internationalization Initiatives, and a Certificate of Recognition for its support to CHEDRO VI. The University was further recognized with a plaque of recognition for being the 8th Top Performing School in the May 2024 Chemical Engineers Licensure Examination (CheLE) with a rating of 80.0%.
