Central Philippine University, through its OVPRDE, approves 18 internally funded research projects for 2025, supporting studies across diverse disciplines and reinforcing the University’s commitment to research excellence and community impact.

Central Philippine University (CPU), through its Office of the Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension (OVPRDE), recognizes the approved 18 internally funded research projects for 2025 under the University Research Center (URC), reaffirming the University’s strong commitment to research excellence, innovation, and community relevance.

The approved studies span a wide range of disciplines, including chemical and life sciences, health and medical research, environmental studies, business and governance, education, and social sciences. These projects involve faculty and student researchers from various colleges and units across the University, highlighting CPU’s emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based inquiry.

The following approved research projects focus on studies of plant-based bioactive compounds, aquaculture health, the antioxidant properties of local crops, waste fiber utilization, antibiotic resistance, and wound healing applications. Several projects also focus on education, nursing simulation, business development, local governance, intellectual property, and community-based research such as rainwater harvesting practices and the lived experiences of coffee farmers in Iloilo Province.

With these approvals and the PHP1,295,320.00 in internal research support, CPU continues to strengthen its research ecosystem by investing in faculty-driven inquiry that contributes to institutional growth, national development priorities, and positive societal impact.
