Central Philippine University and DOST–CPU CPUGAD TBI celebrated a triple victory during the Wadhwani Ignite Awards 2025 in Iloilo City, bringing home the honors of Outstanding TBI Partner, Outstanding Higher Education Institution, and Student Ignite Trailblazer for the student-led startup PackUp.

Iloilo City, Philippines – September 2025 — It was a night of pride and celebration for Central Philippine University (CPU) and the DOST–CPU CPUGAD Technology Business Incubator (CPUGAD TBI) as they brought home three major awards at the Wadhwani Foundation Ignite Awards – Innovation Awards 2025:

  • Outstanding TBI Partner – CPUGAD TBI
  • Outstanding HEI – Central Philippine University
  • Student Ignite Trailblazer – PackUp

These recognitions affirm CPU and CPUGAD TBI’s growing role as catalysts of innovation, technopreneurship, and ecosystem-building in Western Visayas and beyond.

CPUGAD TBI: Outstanding TBI Partner

Receiving the award for Outstanding TBI Partner, CPUGAD TBI was honored for its dedicated role in deploying the Wadhwani Ignite Program, empowering students, faculty, and startups to transform ideas into thriving ventures.

CPU: Outstanding HEI

Central Philippine University was named Outstanding Higher Education Institution, a testament to its enduring “Centralian spirit” and commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship across disciplines.

The award highlights CPU’s vision of turning challenges into opportunities and cultivating changemakers who lead with innovation, resilience, and heart. This recognition also underscores the university’s collaborative ecosystem that bridges academia, industry, and government to create sustainable impact.

PackUp: Student Ignite Trailblazer

Capping the evening, PackUp, a student-led startup incubated at CPUGAD TBI, earned the title Student Ignite Trailblazer. The award celebrates PackUp’s inspiring journey—from participating in the Wadhwani Ignite Program to becoming a fully incubated startup under CPUGAD TBI.

PackUp’s achievement showcases the power of student innovation and serves as an inspiration for fellow student entrepreneurs striving to create meaningful impact.
