Congratulations Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan on your appointment as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) University President of the University of Antique.
Central Philippine University (CPU) alumna has taken on a key leadership role in higher education as Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan was appointed as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) University President of the University of Antique.
According to an announcement from the University of Antique President’s Office dated March 11, 2026, Dr. Alentajan—who currently serves as Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation—has been appointed OIC President, taking on the responsibility of leading the university until a new president is officially selected by the institution’s Board.
The appointment marks a significant milestone in Dr. Alentajan’s academic and administrative career, reflecting the trust and confidence placed in her leadership. The President’s Office expressed optimism that, under her guidance, the University of Antique will continue to achieve greater heights.
On March 16, 2026, Dr. Alentajan formally began her leadership by presiding over her first flag-raising ceremony and Executive Committee (ExeCom) meeting as OIC President.
Dr. Alentajan is an alumna of Central Philippine University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English, cum laude, in 1989. She also completed 18 Professional Teacher Education units at the CPU College of Education. Prior to her tertiary education, she completed her secondary studies at the CPU Development High School in 1985.
In recognition of her contributions to education, Dr. Alentajan was honored as the 2024 Outstanding Alumna in Educational Leadership by the CPU College of Education.
Her appointment as OIC President of the University of Antique highlights the continued impact of CPU alumni in leadership roles across the country, exemplifying the University’s commitment to producing competent and service-oriented professionals in education.
