CAS Praise Team expresses their dedication to service and the Lord through their spirited performance.
The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) family gathered at the University Church on February 18, 2026, for a solemn yet spirited Dedication Service. The event, which took place from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, drew a wide attendance of students, faculty, and staff, all united in a common goal of spiritual renewal and communal dedication.
The service opened with an hour of intense praise and worship led by the CAS Praise Team. The atmosphere was described as jubilant, characterized by spirited music that set a tone of joy and reverence for the afternoon. Following the musical opening, Prof Debbie Marsha G. Sian of the Social Science Department led the congregation in the opening prayer, grounding the event in faith and gratitude.
The core of the dedication was centered on a reading of Luke 10:25–37 by Leandrae Edriann Molo Agagas. The passage, which details the Parable of the Good Samaritan, emphasizes the call to show mercy and the instruction to “go and do likewise” unto others.
Rusberg Paclibar, a 4th Year Theology Student, served as the devotional speaker for the service. During his message, Paclibar offered a profound reflection on the scripture, specifically focusing on how Jesus reframes the classic question from “Who is my neighbor?” to a more introspective challenge: “How should I act as a good neighbor?”, as Paclibar explained that it is a fundamental duty for us to look out for one another as fellow neighbours.
The dedication concluded with a powerful rendition of the song “Break Through Me” by the CAS Praise Team. The service officially ended with a closing prayer led by Rusberg Paclibar, leaving the attendees with a renewed sense of duty toward their neighbors and the university community at large.
