The late Rev. Lydia Garcia- Gal served as an Associate Professor and Field Work Supervisor for the College of Theology for 16 years.
College of Theology Dean Dr. Bernabe Pagara announced the establishment of an award for a female graduating student on April 14, 2021.
The announcement was made during the vigil service sponsored by the college for its faculty, the late Rev. Lydia Garcia-Gal.
“To perpetuate the legacy and service of the late Rev. Garcia-Gal, the College of Theology will establish an award for a graduating female student who will exemplify excellence in fieldwork performance,” said Pagara.

Every year, the college will be giving a cash award to the recipient of said award. Seed money has already been raised through the generosity of the alumni. Dr. Pagara urged alumni of the College of Theology to donate for the award.
The late Rev. Lydia Garcia-Gal is an ordained minister of the Convention of Philippine Baptist Churches (CPBC) and an Associate Professor of the Department of Religion and Ethics, and a Field Work Supervisor for the College of Theology for 16 years.
