Attendees during the profiling activity and launching of advocacies on September 13, 2024, at USWAG San Isidro Elementary School.

The College of Education, represented by Program Heads and student leaders, spearheaded the activity on September 13, 2024, at USWAG San Isidro Elementary School. Numerous colleges from Central Philippine University (CPU) collaborated in the event. They were represented by outreach coordinators, faculty, and students from the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), College of Agriculture, Resources, and Environmental Sciences (CARES), College of Nursing (CON), College of Pharmacy (COP), College of Engineering (COE), College of Hospitality Management (CHM), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), Senior High School, and Elementary School.

The advocacies launched during the event were aligned with the university’s Program ERNEST (Education, Resource Utilization, Nurturance, Environment, Social Welfare, and Technology Transfer). These encompass the target services that the Community Engagement and Service-Learning (CESL) Center has determined.

215 parents of Kindergarten II and Grade 1 pupils were the target participants. USWAG Elementary School faculty members, Barangay Officials, and Tanod also attended and supported the event. Brgy. San Isidro is one of the six identified communities retrieved from the list of poorest households from DSWD’s National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR). CPU is committed to extending assistance and opportunities aligned with Program Ernest. The results of the profiling activity will serve as a baseline for research and outreach activities targeting the community’s needs.

It poured blessings the day the community engagement began in Brgy. San Isidro, Jaro, Iloilo City. Despite the rain, the profiling and launching of advocacies pushed through and turned out to be successful. The profiling activity and launching of program advocacies mark the beginning of our community services in Brgy. San Isidro. The College of Education and collaborating colleges have the best intentions to provide the necessary assistance and build a stronger community network. Blessings will continue to pour in the next five years!
