Angel Kristine Ang, third-year CHM Tourism Management student, is officially named JTHMAP Western Visayas Regional President during the Panunumpa at Sandigan 2026 held on February 6–7 at Jose Rizal University.
Angel Kristine Ang, a third-year Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management student from the College of Hospitality Management (CHM) of Central Philippine University, was formally inducted and pinned as the Regional President of Western Visayas of the Junior Tourism and Hospitality Management Association of the Philippines (JTHMAP) during the two-day Panunumpa at Sandigan 2026 held on February 6–7, 2026, at Jose Rizal University in Mandaluyong City.
The event gathered newly elected regional officers from across the country, marking a significant milestone in student leadership within the tourism and hospitality sector. During the formal induction ceremony, Ms. Ang was officially pinned by JTHMAP Founder, Sir Jojo M. Villamin, symbolizing her assumption of office and the trust bestowed upon her to lead the Western Visayas region.
The first day of the program focused on leadership development and social responsibility. Delegates participated in team-building activities that strengthened camaraderie, collaboration, and communication among regional leaders. These sessions emphasized unity of purpose and the importance of shared vision in advancing organizational goals.
A meaningful highlight of the day was the Community Extension Program conducted at Nayon ng Kabataan in Mandaluyong under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The outreach activity reinforced the principle of servant leadership—demonstrating that tourism and hospitality professionals are called not only to lead within the industry but also to serve communities with compassion, inclusivity, and social awareness.
The second day featured inspiring talks on ethical leadership, student governance, innovation, and adaptability—qualities essential for future tourism and hospitality practitioners. The solemn candle-lighting ceremony further symbolized commitment, integrity, and dedication to service.
Beyond her role in JTHMAP, Ms. Ang also serves as the President of the CHM Ambassadors and Ambassadresses, exemplifying leadership within the College of Hospitality Management. Her election and induction as Regional President reflect her steadfast commitment to excellence, service, and professional growth.
While her participation in this national leadership undertaking was made possible through personal initiative and dedication, her achievement brings pride not only to CHM but to the entire Centralian community. As Regional President, she is entrusted with fostering collaboration among member schools, strengthening regional initiatives, and contributing to the advancement of tourism and hospitality education in Western Visayas.
Ms. Ang’s milestone stands as a testament to the leadership potential of Centralian students—leaders who rise not merely by title, but by service and purpose.
