Students gather at CPU’s Rose Memorial Auditorium, raising hands and voices in praise during the vibrant Praise Jam of Christ Emphasis Week 2024.

The Rose Memorial Auditorium at Central Philippine University (CPU) was alive with energy on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, as hundreds of students gathered for a vibrant Praise Jam, a highlight of this year’s Christ Emphasis Week (CEW). The event, themed “QUENCHED!” drew inspiration from Scriptures found in John 7:38 and Isaiah 58:11, emphasizing that true fulfillment and lasting joy can only be discovered through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, described as “The Living Water.”

The Praise Jam featured a dynamic lineup of local bands that captivated the audience with their energetic performances and inspiring music. As the students lifted their voices in praise and danced to the rhythm of the music, the auditorium was filled with a palpable sense of joy and unity.

The program commenced with a warm welcome from Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard Dagohoy, University President, and Rev. Cris Amorsolo Sian, Senior Pastor of the University Church. This was followed by a call to celebration and invocation led by Rev. Karel Victoria. The evening continued with powerful worship sets from 14 different bands, interspersed with recognition of partners and speakers, and a special performance of the CEW theme song by the band UPSTREAM.

The event also recognized the contributions of various partners and speakers who played a significant role in making CEW a success. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to these individuals during the program.

The event concluded with a heartfelt closing prayer and benediction by Rev. Lovejoy Quimpo-Leysa, Associate Pastor for the Youth, University Church.

Through the Praise Jam, CPU aimed to inspire students to deepen their relationship with God and to live a life that is centered on His love and grace. The university continues to prioritize spiritual growth and development as an integral part of its holistic education.
