Mayor Reynor R. Gonzales of Lambunao, Iloilo with GK Kahilwayan Kapitbahayan Leaders and PICE-CPUSC Officers.

On March 23, 2023, the Community Engagement and Service-Learning Center partnered with the CPU Student Chapter Officers of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers for a MOA signing in the Municipality of Lambunao.

The Memorandum of Agreement aims to have a fruitful collaboration between the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers and the CPU Student Chapter; with the Municipality of Lambunao for the “Project Pagtukod” in Barangay Tampucao.

The PICE-CPUSC officers, with their adviser Linie Santacera, joined the Team Gawad Kalinga to meet Lambunao Mayor Hon. Reynor Gonzales. PICE-CPUSC presented the Memorandum of Agreement which the Gawad Kalinga Community Development Coordinator read.

The mayor expressed interest in future partnership plans with PICE-CPUSC. The parties gathered for the signing after the meeting with the Mayor. The Memorandum of Agreement between the PICE CPU Student Chapter and the Municipality of Lambunao was signed by:

● and Gawad Kalinga Community Development Coordinator Christy Ibita

The MOA was signed in the presence of the Lambunao LGU Personnel, GK Kahilwayan Kapitbahayan Leaders, Gawad Kalinga FTW, Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers CPU Student Chapter officers, and CPU Community Engagement and Service-Learning Center.

PICE-CPUSC officers visited a site in Barangay Tampucao with Team Gawad Kalinga for updates concerning the Youth Center of Project Pagtukod. During the visit, the PICE officers and Gawad Kalinga representatives discussed development plans for a Learning Center, with project goals advocating for activities; encouraging the youth and cooperative endeavors aimed at the community.

CESL supports causes for youth empowerment and partnerships like Project Pagtukod of PICE-CPUSC which highlights the importance of learning with site plans focusing on the concerns of Tampucao and its surrounding barangays.
