Heartfelt congratulations to our distinguished Centralians who have recently joined the judiciary. CPU is so proud to see you achieve this significant milestone!

On August 29, 2024, the Supreme Court made an official announcement regarding the newly appointed members of the judiciary. The announcement, shared via their official Facebook page, highlighted several new appointees, including five distinguished alumni from Central Philippine University.

The recent appointments include Judge Meliza Joan P. Berano-Robite, Bachelor of Laws – Class of 2016, who has been named the Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 29, Iloilo City. Also, Judge Ethel P. Demaisip-Sanson, Bachelor of Laws – Class of 1999, has been appointed as the Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 66, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo. Furthermore, Judge Gladys Pearl T. Palabrica, Bachelor of Laws – Class of 2008, has joined the Regional Trial Court, FC, Branch 6, Dumangas, Iloilo, as Presiding Judge. Additionally, Judge Mia Laine C. Catalan-Dabao, Juris Doctor (JD) – Class of 2014, has been designated as the Presiding Judge of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities, Branch 1, Iloilo City. Lastly, Judge Aida Raissa T. Espinosa, Juris Doctor (JD) – Class of 2014, has become part of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities, Branch 4, Roxas City, as Presiding Judge.

The CPU College of Law expressed enthusiasm for the new appointments and wrote on their official Facebook page, “Your CPU College of Law family is proud of you! We wish you continued success in your judicial journey!”

In terms of numbers, there are four new justices appointed to the Court of Appeals, 80 new judges to the Regional Trial Courts, 19 to the Municipal Trial Courts, 24 to the Municipal Trial Court in Cities, and 30 new judges to the Municipal Circuit Trial Courts.

These appointments underscore CPU’s ongoing dedication to nurturing exceptional leaders in the field of law. As these alumni step into key judicial roles, the Centralian community extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes. The community eagerly anticipates supporting their future successes and celebrating their contributions to the legal profession.
