Laughter, lights, and loud beats fill the air as Centralians celebrate CPUR Day 2025 during the unforgettable Centralian Rave.
In a vibrant display of unity, culture, and school spirit, Central Philippine University students gathered to celebrate CPUR Day 2025 on May 9, spearheaded by the Central Philippine University Republic (CPUR) under the theme “Two Decades Strong: Central Spirit, Enduring Legacy.” The occasion commemorated the 20th Parliament of CPUR, reviving a tradition that highlights collaboration across student clusters.
“Ever since before, I’ve really wanted to bring back CPUR Day because this is the only opportunity for our Local Government Units to collaborate with each cluster,” shared CPUR President Ron Xavier Caldito. “That’s truly its essence—where officials can work together.”
The day kicked off at 9:00 AM with a Mixed Sports Tournament at the CPU Gymnasium, where cluster teams showcased their skills in basketball and volleyball, drawing enthusiastic cheers from fellow Centralians. Each match brought a wave of energy and team pride, with players ranging from six to sixteen per team.
Centralians give it their all during the Tug of War at the CPU Big Field, bringing energy and excitement to CPUR Day 2025.
In the afternoon, the festivities moved to the Big Field with Laro ng Lahi, a lineup of traditional Filipino games such as Tug of War, Patintero, Palo Sebo, Dakpanay Baboy, and Agawan Base. These games not only entertained but also reinforced Filipino culture, teamwork, and childhood nostalgia.
“We included traditional games like Patintero, Agawan Base… The event is running very smoothly, and everyone is enjoying it,” Caldito said. “For us in CPUR, that’s really all we want: to give the students what they deserve and to give them the opportunity to have fun, as well as for our officials to join and participate.”
As the sun set, Centralians gathered at the CPUR Stage (Grandstand) for the Awarding Ceremony, where winners of both the sports tournament and Laro ng Lahi received recognition for their skill and team effort.
The celebration reached its peak with Centralian’s Best, a showcase of student talent, followed by the highly anticipated Centralian Rave. The night transformed into a lively party with lights, music, and foam, as DJ CJ Tanoy kept the crowd energized.

“Through these adversities, we learn to adapt, to compromise, and to rise above difficulties with resilience and purpose,” Caldito emphasized during his closing remarks.
For students like Alemy Louise Pama, the event was a memorable first.
“As a first-time Centralian, I really appreciate the CPUR for organizing this event. I really enjoyed having fun during the foam party,” she said.
CPUR Day 2025 proved to be more than just a day of fun and games—it was a celebration of Centralian identity, of shared memories, and of the spirit that binds the university community together. As CPUR marks two decades of student governance, its leaders continue to champion events that bring joy, foster connection, and create a lasting legacy for future generations.
