On September 1-4, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Rea Angelica Villeza of CPU’s College of Theology shared insights on “Preaching in a Digital Culture” at the 2025 Teachers’ Academy: Focus on Homiletics, held at the YWCA Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

Assoc. Prof. Rea Angelica F. Villeza, CPU’s Chairperson of the Department Head of Religion and Ethics under the College of Theology, was among the featured speakers at the 2025 Teachers’ Academy held on September 1-4, 2025, at the YWCA Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

The event was organized by the Association for Theological Education in Southeast Asia (ATESEA), in partnership with the Association of Theological Schools (ATS), focused on the field of Homiletics. The gathering highlighted the challenges and opportunities faced by homileticians in the context of globalization, the information technology revolution, and increasing polarization.

Assoc. Prof. Villeza delivered her lecture on “Preaching in a Digital Culture,” addressing the dynamics of communicating biblical messages in an era shaped by technology and online platforms.

“Thank you, ATESEA for the privilege of participating in this conference and for trusting me to share inputs on Teaching in a Digital culture,” she shared on her Facebook post.

Other presentations included “Different Platforms of Proclamation” by Prof. Joas Adiprasetya of Jakarta Theological Seminary, Jakarta, Indonesia, and “Proclaiming the Word for Such a Time as This” by Dr. Zaw Latt Aung, Executive Secretary of the Association for Theological Education in Myanmar.

Assoc. Prof. Villeza’s participation in the 2025 Teachers’ Academy shows CPU’s commitment to excellence and its active role in international efforts to promote theological education and strengthen the global conversation on preaching.
