Jensen L. Golez looks forward to recover and finish his studies in CPU.

Cicero Omero II never misses to cover important events at Central Philippine University. He is a fun-runner Centralian who sustains a healthy body through physical activities. Photography is his hobby and business. But this time, Omero will “Walk for A Cause” 42 kilometers in Panglao, Bohol Island on August 27, 2023 – to raise funds to support the medical needs of Jensen L. Golez, a 4th year Nursing Student at CPU who has developed a brain tumor.

Golez who is a consistent honor student since kindergarten and up to college was a possible candidate for Summa Cum Laude, but he was diagnosed with brain tumor (Schwannoma) a very rare kind of tumor. He manifested symptoms of dizziness, headaches, nausea and vomiting. He was disturbed by imbalance.

Because of this, the family, had decided that Jensen would undergo brain surgery. His first open brain surgery was in December 2021 at WVMRH. Jensen completely recovered for almost 7 months. He was allowed to go back to school. After 7 months he again developed the same symptoms. MRI and CT scan revealed that the recurrence of tumor was imminent.

Jensen was scheduled for brain surgery for the second time last November 8, 2022. After 2 months, his condition remained the same, the tumor kept on coming back.  Jensen was operated for the 3rd time at the Iloilo Mission Hospital on January 3, 2023. After two months, his condition remained poor. Jensen was operated again at Saint Paul’s Hospital which was his fourth brain operation. After two weeks of confinement, his parents decided to bring Jensen home to continue his treatment.

According to his father, “Jensen is currently taking a lot of expensive medications. We are finding means to provide him a possible radio therapy for 28 sessions – if that will stabilize him.” The family had been devastated emotionally and economically to keep Jensen alive. He added that, “The situation seems to be hopeless, but we keep on praying and hoping for a miracle that Jensen would be better.” The family would like to request your support through Mr. Omero’s “WALK FOR A CAUSE” in Bohol on August 27, 2023. Prayers, encouragement and financial support for Jensen’s medications are needed.  Your donation will be a big help for Jensen. Donations can be sent thru Gcash # Paulette L. Golez (09472388893) / Cicero Omero (09565891181).
