Congratulations to Mark Hendrix G. Lapac, a third-year BS Biology (Medical Biology) student from the College of Arts and Sciences, for being named one of the 2025 finalists in the 4th batch of the Outstanding Student Leaders of the Philippines (OSLP).

Mark Hendrix G. Lapac, a third-year BS Biology specializing in Medical Biology student under the College of Arts and Sciences has been named as one of the finalists in the 4th batch of the Outstanding Student Leaders of the Philippines (OSLP) for the year 2025. The announcement was made on the official Facebook page of TRAC Philippines on June 5, 2025.

Along with 23 student-leaders across the country, Lapac earned his spot through a rigorous selection process that recognized his exceptional leadership, service, and commitment to nation-building.

“We submitted our portfolio containing the collegiate leadership experience and academic endeavors. Moreover, I had a 1-hour interview with them during the search,” Lapac shared in an online interview. “For the application process, I tried to include everything in my portfolio. However, I had a hard time finding pictures of myself giving service during outreaches and other endeavors because I don’t usually use my phone during those times. During the interview, I tried my best to answer honestly with pure intentions.”

For him, the main obstacle was the constant internal battle and fear that he might not be capable of achieving such a milestone. However, he believed he owed it to the people who had faith in him, and that gave him the strength and courage to apply.

Lapac expressed his gratitude for the recognition, saying, “I dedicate this award not to myself, but to those who believed in me. To the Student Development and Programs Office for the recommendation letter under Pastor Morales that we were able to expedite the process and accomplish the requirements. To Manong Dada (Daryl T. Lutero) who helped me during the application process, and Manang Jennifer Angeles who encouraged me to apply. I also dedicate this to my family. Lastly, I dedicate this to the communities I serve.” He also remarked that, “I serve not to be recognized, but to give pure, genuine contribution to the community. This recognition is proof of my dedication, and I am grateful.”
