A day after their arrival, Ivy Jane D. Ortega and Melisa O. Derramas from the BSED-English Program of the College of Education were welcomed with warmth and goodwill by Tra Vinh University (TVU) faculty and staff.

The welcoming ceremony, held on March 4, 2024, at the Tan Thien meeting room, was graced by the presence of Dr. Huy Thông, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Education; Dr. Ngọc Tài, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages; Dr. Phương Nam, Vice Principal of College of Southern Khmer Language-Culture-Arts and Humanities (CLASKA); MA. Phương Thão, Lecturer at the School of Foreign Languages; M.A. Thúy Duy, Lecturer at the School of Foreign Languages; and M.A. Bạch Mai, Staff Member of the International Cooperation Office.

The ceremony commenced with a speech by Dr. Huy Thông Nguyễn, which highlighted the continuous and active partnership between TVU and CPU. The two universities share a common mission of providing their students with the opportunities to broaden their global experiences, foster lasting relationships, and exchange values and cultures. The two pre-service teachers attended the International Cooperation Office orientation. They were assigned to CLASKA where they will be immersed for three months teaching General English to university students.

Ms. Derramas and Ms. Ortega are exchange students under the Commission on Higher Education-International Affairs Service (CHED-IAS). The ceremony marked the beginning of another collaboration between CPU College of Education and Tra Vinh University Vietnam.

Cảm ơn, TVU!
