Los Angeles and other parts of the U.S. are almost back to normal according to one of CCINAA’s Board of Directors, Geoffrey Leysa. Centralian nurses in the US are now free from using face masks and face shields unless necessarily required in their hospital’s area of duty.
The CPU College of Nursing, Capiz Emmanuel Hospital, Iloilo Mission Hospital Nurses Alumni Association (CCINAA) with chapters worldwide is united, very strong and cohesive at this time of the pandemic. The Centralian frontliners are our modern-day heroes because of their commitment and dedication to their call of duty. CCINAA nurses continue to make a real difference at work.
Amidst the pandemic, they display excellent service and perform crucial roles in saving lives. For their patience and sacrifices, accolades were heaped on these Centralian nurses by employers and hospital administration. These were shown in the annual
“Nurse of the Year Awards”, given by hospital employers to nurses. Centralian nurses are endorsed to receive the awards by their employers.
Geoffrey Leysa is a member of the Board of Trustees of the CCINAA.
The Centralian OFWs brought with them to their places of employment abroad, the core values of their Alma Mater: Faith, Character, Justice, Stewardship and Excellence. “This is not just about recognitions and awards,” according to Leysa. “It is about being true to the values that CPU taught us.”
Central Philippine University recognizes the big support and assistance of CCINAA during the pandemic. The association had been sending donations to CPU and many other hospitals in Panay since the start of the crisis. It is presently providing support to the frontliners of Iloilo Mission Hospital thanks to the leadership of CPU College of Nursing Dean Atty. Salex Alibogha. According to Leysa, “we need to be generous to other Centralian nurses in other parts of the world especially in the city where CPU is located.”
CCINAA also helped in the fund drive for the Simulation Laboratory and Skills Laboratory of CPU College of Nursing. The association also created 2-E Classrooms used during the pandemic. The CCINAA support also comes with seminars and webinars for the faculty, and also the students.
According to the latest update, the CCINAA continues to expand with a new chapter in Germany.
