Mga Bayani ng Mundo is a recognition event honoring nurse heroes conducted by the Philippine Nurses Association of America Foundation.
Centralian excellence knows no bounds—Two (2) alumni from Central Philippine University College of Nursing were among the selected Mga Bayani ng Mundo Honorees, a ceremony honoring healthcare heroes conducted by the Philippine Nurses Association of America Foundation.
Dr. Jennifer Aying of BSN class 1979 and Mr. Jonathan Anotado Gapilango of BSN class 1993 were honored as healthcare heroes during the said recognition event on May 20, 2023, at Pines Manor, New Jersey.
Through a Facebook post, the Philippine Nurses Association of America Foundation congratulates Dr. Aying “for being recognized as a Mga Bayani ng Mundo Honoree! Your dedication and commitment to advancing the field of Nursing in both the USA and the Philippines is truly remarkable. Mabuhay ka!”
Meanwhile, the same foundation commends Gapilango for his selection as one of the 2023 Mga Bayani ng Mundo Honorees. “Jonathan not only created an environment for the professional development of Filipino-American nurses but also promoted community service involvement in the underserved communities in the Philippines. He served as an inspiration to many by fostering a culture of excellence and compassion.”
