The Centralian Developer Group successfully held Code Your Portfolio: A Hands-On Workshop on February 28, 2026, guiding participants from UI/UX design to live website deployment and empowering aspiring designers and developers to turn creative ideas into real-world projects.

The Centralian Developer Group successfully conducted Code Your Portfolio: A Hands-On Workshop from UI/UX Design to Deployed Website last February 28, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at MT AVR 1 & 2. The whole-day workshop gathered aspiring designers, student developers, and portfolio-builders for an engaging learning experience focused on transforming creative ideas into fully deployed, real-world projects. The program was hosted by Andre B. Borres, President of the Centralian Developer Group, who welcomed everyone and ensured the smooth flow of the day’s activities.

The program formally opened with remarks from Jenny Grecia, Vice President for External Affairs of the Centralian Developer Group. In her message, she warmly welcomed participants and set the tone for the day, stating, “We are excited to have you here as we bring together aspiring designers, student developers, and portfolio-builders with one shared goal: turning ideas into real, functional projects.” Her address highlighted the organization’s commitment to empowering students with useful and career-ready skills.

The morning session featured Kyne Andrew Hao, who led an engaging discussion on Handson UI/UX Designing using Figma. He introduced participants to fundamental UI/UX principles, emphasizing user-centered design and layout structuring. Through live and guided demonstrations, participants explored how to transform concepts into visual designs using Figma.

The session transitioned into an interactive workshop in which the participants actively designed their own portfolio layouts. Mr. Hao encouraged engagement by asking questions directly to members of the audience, fostering a collaborative learning environment. The morning segment concluded with the awarding of a certificate of appreciation to the speaker in recognition of his valuable contribution.

After the morning lecture, participants were provided with lunch before proceeding to the afternoon session, allowing them time to recharge, connect with fellow attendees, and reflect on the insights they had gained.

In the afternoon, Christian Dave Montalban took the stage to discuss Hands-on Development and Deployment. Building upon the designs created earlier, he guided the participants through the technical process of turning their UI/UX prototypes into functional websites.

The workshop covered practical tools and platforms, including Anima, GitHub, Vercel, and Visual Studio Code. Participants learned how to convert designs into responsive code, manage version control, and deploy their websites live. The hands-on format allowed attendees to apply each step in real time, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the workflow from design to deployment.

The afternoon session reached an exciting point when participants showcased their portfolios. Among them, the “AR.TICLE” portfolio emerged as the standout showcase, featuring architecture design projects developed by the Arkitekton Organization from Iloilo Science and Technology University. The portfolio impressed the audience with its creative layout and presentation of architectural concepts, reflecting both technical skills and creative vision.

Following the presentations, Mr. Montalban was awarded a certificate of appreciation for sharing his expertise. The program concluded with closing acknowledgments, marking the successful completion of a productive and inspiring event.

Through Code Your Portfolio, the Centralian Developer Group demonstrated its commitment to supporting innovation and skill development among students by providing them the opportunity to build actual projects that brought their creativity to life.
