Reunion in the South participants celebrating success, with a ra-ra-ra!

The resounding success of the CPU Reunion in the South was made possible by the unwavering enthusiasm and determination of Centralians. Despite the challenges of distance, travel, and time constraints, their willingness and active participation were fueled by the radiant flame of Central Spirit.

Centralians came from far and wide, with alumni traveling from as far as Bukidnon to reconnect with their fellow Centralians, classmates, and batchmates hailing from places as diverse as Manila, Iloilo, and various provinces in Mindanao.

Notably, successful alumni who attribute their achievements and leadership roles to their education at CPU took center stage. Engineer Rey M. Jacomille, a Centralian and an Agri-Eng’g. graduate of 1980, was one of the resource speakers. He was invited to share his expertise on wastewater management. As the President and CEO of Environmental Solutions, he acknowledged that it was CPU’s quality education that shaped him into the accomplished professional he is today.

Hon. Clemente B. Fedoc, Mayor of Norala, South Cotabato thanks the CPUCARES AAI Alumni Association and CPU for the event held in his municipality.

Dr. Manuel C. Palada, an Agri-Batch alumnus from 1966 and Chairman of the CPUCARES Awards Committee, has not only served as a CPU Board of Trustees Member but has also made a name for himself as an international horticulturist, often referred to as the Father of Moringa. He enlightened the audience about the benefits and uses of this remarkable plant.

Centralian Engineer Jose Emie Siojo, from Agri Batch ’74 and the CPUCARES Outstanding Alumnus of 2023, presented a lecture on Hydroponics and Aquaponics, shedding light on innovative agricultural practices.

The event’s ambiance was further elevated by the gracious hosting of Eduardo Castin, owner of Castin’s Place, who himself is a Centralian and an Agri-Batch alumnus from ’74 and also a CPU CARES Outstanding Alumnus of 2023. His support added a special touch to the gathering, creating an environment that truly embodied the Central Spirit.
