Students of Tirol High School, Concepcion, Iloilo received their certificates from CPU-CBA.

Central Philippine University’s College of Business and Accountancy (CPU-CBA) demonstrated its commitment to education and community empowerment through its recent outreach program held in Concepcion, Iloilo. On March 8, 2024, CPU-CBA organized a series of activities aimed at educating and empowering students from Roberto H. Tirol High School and Lo-ong National High School.

At Roberto H. Tirol High School, the day commenced with the singing of the national anthem followed by an opening prayer led by Ms. Alessandra Daquilla. Mrs. Josephine P. Balasan, Principal II of the school, warmly welcomed the CPU-CBA team and provided an overview of the project.

Under the banner of “Project Tikang: A Shoes-Giving Activity Tirolians,” the initiative aimed to address the needs of students without proper footwear. Dr. Lorna T. Grande, Dean of CPU-CBA, delivered a heartfelt message emphasizing the importance of partnership and extending help to one another as a Christian commitment of CPU.


Students from Tirol High School, Concepcion, Iloilo raised the shoes that they have received from CPU.

The event featured breakout sessions as part of Project E-Cube: Educate, Empower, Excel, covering topics such as leadership training, qualitative and quantitative research, basic accounting, entrepreneurship, business plan development, and research methodologies for faculty members. Ms. Monica Centena delivered the closing remarks, expressing gratitude for the fruitful collaboration, followed by a closing prayer led by Ms. Chealsea Sadsad.

Following the opening program at Roberto H. Tirol High School, some of the CPU-CBA team proceeded to Lo-ong National High School, where they continued their mission of education and empowerment.

At Lo-ong National High School, the highlight of the day was the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between CPU-CBA and the school administration, paving the way for future collaborations. Subsequently, the E-Cube project continued with breakout sessions focusing on leadership training, business planning, marketing principles, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy tailored for teachers.

The outreach program exemplified CPU-CBA’s dedication to its vision of exemplary Christian education and social responsibility. Through initiatives like Project Tikang and Project E-Cube, CPU-CBA aims to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students and contribute to the overall development of communities in Concepcion, Iloilo.
