Graduating students from CPU’s College of Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Science, and Medicine as well as the faculty and staff joined in celebrating this momentous event.

Central Philippine University (CPU) held a College Dedication Service last June 9, 2024, at the Rose Memorial Auditorium. The momentous event brought together graduating students from the College of Nursing (CON), College of Pharmacy (COP), College of Medical Laboratory Science (CMLS), and College of Medicine (COLMED) alongside faculty and staff.

Rev. Franz Hestia Lovejoy Q. Leysa, Youth Pastor of University Church served as speaker whereby she centered her scriptural message about ‘Don’t hold back and give your best to God’. In her message, she reminded us that “we need to be rounded, we need to prepare ourselves and to be stable so that no matter what or whoever tries to sway or shake us in our faith, we will remain faithful and steadfast.”

“The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a wasted life,” she said.

Jywelle Nae Nacional, a graduating student from the College of Medicine, delivered a heartfelt testimony. Nacional expressed her gratitude for the journey and the unwavering support from God throughout her academic career.  She recounted her initial uncertainty in choosing a path, but how faith guided her towards respiratory therapy.

“It took me months to decide which course to pursue, wrestling with various options and seeking guidance through prayer. Initially, I had a different academic path in mind, but God had other plans,” she said.

Nacional shared how scripture, particularly Jeremiah 17:7-8, served as her anchor during moments of doubt. She described the invaluable support system she found in her friends, professors, and mentors, highlighting the importance of surrounding oneself with positive influences. Nacional concluded by reflecting on the personal and spiritual growth she experienced, crediting the challenges for strengthening her dependence on God. She closed by expressing confidence in the future, knowing that God’s faithfulness will continue to guide her.

“I see how God surrounded me with people of good character. His influence kept me grounded and inspired. From the moments of doubts and uncertainty to the triumphs and milestones, He has been my guiding light,” Ms. Nacional said.

The College Dedication Service served as a fitting tribute to the graduating students and a celebration of their achievements. The event also highlighted the importance of faith and perseverance in the pursuit of academic excellence and a fulfilling career in the healthcare field.

The Commencement Program and the Baccalaureate Service are set to be scheduled on June 23, 2024.
