The Central Echo (CE) bagged 9 awards in this year’s Philippine Information Agency Region VI (PIA-VI) College Press Awards (COPRE).

The awarding was held virtually on Wednesday, December 17, 2020.

For major awards, CE won 1st place for Online Newsletter and 4th place for Best Newspaper/Tabloid. For minor awards, it placed 1st for News and Editorial Page and 4th Place in Best Newspaper Layout.

4 CE staffers also won in the On-the-Spot writing contests namely Kalanie Saldajeno (BSN-2, ‘Most well-written article’ – “Kultura and Pamana” Writing Challenge, 4th Place – Editorial Writing English), Gad B. Castro (BS Advert-1, 1st place- Feature Writing English), Danica Mae Hablado (BS Psych-1, 3rd Place Editorial Writing Filipino), and Prince Ric Emmanuel Q. Paciente (BS Bio-2, 4th Place – Editorial Cartooning).

The COPRE is conducted annually by the PIA-VI to recognize the contribution of campus publications in its developmental communication initiatives.
