CBA Dean Dr. Lorna T. Gande receives the check from donor CBA Batch ’73 Alumni Association.
Prompted by the Central spirit that binds us all – The CPU College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) batch ’73 (formerly College of Commerce), donated an amount of thirty thousand (30K) pesos to the department on June 6, 2023, for its professorial chair. The check was presented to Dean Lorna T. Grande.
The valuable donation was first recommended by Mr. June Gallos an active member of the CBA Alumni Association during a reunion attended by around 45 alumni. The members have decided that the available amount would help the college.
Alumni Association’s President Dr. Flemia Armada Eusebio who retired as a Research Analyst from the Kansas Department of Labor in 2014, said that “While this would be an annual donation, it will depend on the availability of funds; a one-year term would be given to the Professorial Chair awardee.”
“A Professorial Chair is awarded to one in recognition of his/her academic excellence and meritorious service in the field of teaching and in research and who has sustained a dynamic scholarly involvement in teaching, research, and in community service in accordance with the mission of the University.”
Antonieta Eguico, one of the officers of CBA batch ’73 said that the association has a very strong camaraderie bonded by the Central Spirit; the values of sincerity, honesty, and dedication are treasured.
