Centralian Visual Artists Society (CenVAS) is holding a Summer Art Workshop and Exhibit entitled “Art Pack” at the 2nd Floor of Robinsons Place Jaro, Iloilo City from May 12 to 22 and May 23 to July 1, 2022.

The Art Exhibit is a collection of CenVAS members’ artworks; paintings that include portraits of 4 CPU Presidents by Centralian artist and Cenvas member Efraim G. Alfaras (CPU employee). Asked how the fast transition in technology affect art, or specifically his works of art, Alfaras said, “My works are mostly based on reality; a fact that culture remains in our hearts and minds. The artwork must survive changes in humanity or society.”

One of the highlights in the Art Pack Exhibit is ‘ the Portaits of Four CPU Presidents’ on canvas by Efraim G. Alfaras.

The art activity is under the auspices of CPU Cultural Affairs Office and the CPU Packaging Engineering Department. CenVAS is a member organization of CPU Cultural Affairs Office. CPU CAO Director Crista S. Huyong said that, “We aim to promote the artistry of our students thru the different cultural groups. Every year, the Cultural Affairs Office holds cultural shows and art competitions.” She added that, the hibernation of our cultural events for 2 years caused by the Covid -19 pandemic should resume as soon as possible.”

Huyong and her Department have an array of other interesting cultural presentations – that includes dance cavalcades, music, and visual arts activities throughout the year.
