CPU Elementary pupils proudly participate in the BSP and GSP Backyard Camp on January 16, 2026, engaging in scouting activities that foster teamwork, leadership, and camaraderie within the school campus.

Central Philippine University (CPU) Elementary School learners participated in a meaningful and engaging Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) and Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) Backyard Camp on January 16, 2026. The activity provided students with a hands-on introduction to scouting values, practical skills, and teamwork. Held within the school campus, the event created a safe and accessible environment where young Centralians experienced the spirit of scouting.

The backyard camp featured a variety of activities designed to promote discipline, cooperation, and confidence among elementary pupils. Students proudly donned their scout uniforms as they took part in formations, presentations, and interactive exercises that encouraged leadership and active participation.

The event also fostered camaraderie as boys and girls worked alongside their classmates, learning the importance of service, responsibility, and unity.

Beyond skill-building, the activity highlighted the strong partnership between the school and families. Parents played a vital role in supporting their children’s first scouting experience, from preparing uniforms to ensuring participation in early-morning activities.

One parent shared her reflections, saying, “This being our son’s first Boy Scout experience, it was truly a family affair. From scouring the Central Market to buy the required uniforms and gear to waking up early on a Saturday to make sure he gets to the Boy Scouts Zumba, we are happy that our son enjoyed learning new skills while having fun with the rest of his classmates.”

Through the BSP and GSP Backyard Camp, CPU Elementary School reaffirmed its commitment to holistic education—one that goes beyond the classroom and nurtures character, teamwork, and lifelong values. The activity served as a memorable milestone for many pupils, marking their first step into the world of scouting and community involvement.
