The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program posted the highest number of enrolees for First Semester 2020-2021, among other Engineering courses in the College of Engineering. As of September 4, 2020, there are a total of 976 students enrolled in the college, with 341 listed in Civil Engineering, 128 in Mechanical Engineering, 127 in Chemical Engineering, 106 in Software Engineering, 207 in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and 67 in Packaging Engineering.
College of Engineering Dean, Engr. Dany Molina expressed gratitude for the turnout of students enrolled despite the shift of the mode of learning from “Face-to Face” to “Online”. He also gave an update on the LMS platform that is being used by the college. “We started with the free version of Canvas, but we have subscribed to a paid one for this school year. With our subscription, we are entailed to certain administrative privileges and auto-generation not previously available in the free version.”
“There is an automatic generation of subjects assigned to the faculty for the current semester. The faculty can automatically see their subjects in the computer dashboard, once they login. Faculty members are however required to prepare their detailed study guide, course home page, with their course files in Canvas. Course Syllabus was uploaded with their course settings and profiles,” Molina explained.
An orientation on the use of Canvas was given last August 26, 2020.
