Tusmaw sa Taliambong Workshops engaged BECEd students on February 14, 21, and 28, 2026, at the National Museum of the Philippines-Iloilo, where they created upcycled and nature-inspired art to promote environmental awareness and sustainability.
On February 14, 21, and 28, 2026, students of the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd) Gems participated in the Tusmaw sa Taliambong Workshops at the National Museum of the Philippines-Iloilo. The workshop aimed to deepen students’ understanding of environmental concepts such as recycling, preservation, and sustainability. The experience was also intended to leave a lasting impact on them through creative and artistic workshops.
The three-day workshop included upcycling sea-glass art, leaf art, stamp-making, and mini canvas painting. The Gems’ participation in Tusmaw sa Taliambong is aligned with the course Environmental Education, a specialized elective under Asst. Prof. Jorvelyn Jaruda-Espinosa.
The Tusmaw sa Taliambong workshop, organized by the National Museum of the Philippines-Iloilo, is part of the National Arts Month celebration. The event offered participants meaningful opportunities to engage in activities that allowed them to express their care for nature creatively. Through this experience, the Gems gained an appreciation for respecting and protecting nature, which can be expressed not only in words but also through creative activities.
