BECEd Gems members, together with young learners, plant mulberry seedlings during the “Planting Trees for Posterity – Year 2” activity held on December 16, 2025, at the CPU Kindergarten Department.

“We speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues.”  This quote by The Lorax, a fictional character in one of Dr. Seuss’s books, is a line that continues to inspire BECEd Gems’ ‘Planting Trees for Posterity.’  The activity marked another milestone in the academic organization’s ongoing commitment to environmental protection and sustainability, aligning with several SDGs, particularly Climate Action (SDG 13), Life on Land (SDG 15), Good Health and Well-being (SDG3), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), Quality Education (SDG 4), and Partnership for the Goals (SDG 17).

The second year of the tree-planting activity was conducted last December 16, 2025, at the CPU Kindergarten Department. Four Mulberry seedlings in designated areas were planted. Involving young learners added more meaning to the event as it focused on nurturing environmental awareness, responsibility, and long-term care for nature among students and community members.

Through Planting Trees for Posterity – Year 2, BECED Gems reaffirmed its mission to promote a greener and healthier environment and the importance of preserving natural resources for future generations. The academic organization expressed its commitment to continue the program in the coming years, believing that the trees planted today will serve as a lasting legacy for tomorrow.
