Like his father, City Councilor (Sangguniang Panglungsod) Atty. Plaridel C.Nava II is a journalist-writer and communicator. He is popular to the community and active in socio- civic organizations in Iloilo City. He finished his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science (CPU 1995), and his Bachelor of Laws in (CPU 2000). He passed the Bar exam in 2001.
During his college years in CPU, Nava was the Editor–in-Chief of The Central Echo, one of the best college student publications in the region. He was also very active in the CPU Republic.
He served as Chairman of the Sanggunian Kabataan (SK) of Brgy. Libertad, Lapuz, Iloilo City; Former Chief of Staff of Gov. Rahman Nava and Provincial Legal Officer of Guimaras.
Nava started as City Councilor in 2010 and served Iloilo City Council for three terms. He won again as Sangguniang Panglunsod (SP) Member in the May 2022 National and Local Elections. He has worked with the Iloilo City Council in different committees as Chairman, Vice Chairman and Member; Ways and means, Transportation, Domestic and Internal Relations, and in the Blue Ribbon Committee among others.
He held other positions in the City government: as Chairman of the Task Force on Minors, Vice Chairman- Board of Trustees, Iloilo City Community College, and Member of Iloilo City Local School Board.
He is the Vice President (Internal) of the Junior Chamber International- Iloilo (2009-2010), Secretary General-Philippine Councilor’s League, and up to the present, a Member of Iloilo Host Lions Club. Atty. Nava has received recognition for his active participation in Sustainable Urban Transport in Asia and the Pacific Region; he attended a joint workshop organized by CITYNET and the Korea Transport Institute held in Seoul South in 2013.
“I am always committed to serve my beloved Iloilo City,” Nava said. City Councilor Nava is the son of Sumakwel A. Nava, Sr. and Luztresa C. Nava.
