Students from APPS-CPU, The Prosecutors–CPU SHS, and the College of Engineering represented Central Philippine University at the 4th San Agustin Model Congress 2025, immersing themselves in legislative policymaking and earning distinctions under the event’s first-ever Bicameral framework.

Students from APPS-CPU, The Prosecutors-CPU SHS along with the College of Engineering, participated in the 4th San Agustin Model Congress held last April 30-May 3, 2025, at the University of San Agustin joined by various schools and student organizations. With this milestone, the students immersed themselves in the field of policymaking and parliamentary legislative processes because the 4th SAMC implemented its first-ever Bicameral framework, bearing the presence of the HoR and Senate among their delegates.

With the event theme “Strengthening Democracy and National Resilience: Bridging Governance, Security, and Development for a Sustainable Future”, the event aimed to empower the Ilonggo youth to harness their voice, be more politically aware, and to champion legislative action by promoting a more informed and engaged youth.

The participating students from APPS-CPU served as part of the Moderating Board as well as Delegates of the HoR, namely:

Moderating Board:

  • Frederick Evans Jardenil, Senator and Senate Chairperson, Committee on National Defense and Security, Peace, Unification, and Reconciliation
  • Thara Danielle Mainar, Vice Chair of the Committee on Constitutional Amendments
  • Railyn Jeffe Alcarde, Secretary of the Committee on Housing and Rural Development
  • Marie Joan Vera Pagnamitan, Secretary of the Committee on Public Order and Illegal Drugs
  • Alexander Baculi, Vice Chair of the Committee on Public Order and Illegal Drugs

Additionally, Emman Rey B. Saquibal, President of the Dr. Rex D. Drilon Debate Society served as a Senator and Senate Chairperson for the Committee on Constitutional Amendments and Revision of Codes
