“The journey that began with being chosen by our college dean as one of CPU’s representatives for TOSIA 2024 unfolded into a surreal experience for me as I advanced to the semifinals stage,” shares Lorca, reflecting on his remarkable journey. “Throughout our meticulous preparations, we were entrusted with the demanding task of meticulously organizing our documentary requirements, fine-tuning our portfolios, and diligently completing various forms.”

Lorca’s journey was not without its challenges, as he encountered moments of tension and uncertainty along the way. However, his determination and perseverance ultimately prevailed. “The venture into this unfamiliar territory felt both daunting and exhilarating,” he recalls. “As the day of the essay writing round arrived, I faced immense pressure, fully aware of the caliber of my fellow delegates and my own lack of preparedness.”

“To me, an outstanding student embodies a profound commitment to prioritizing the well-being of others over mere recognition or accolades,” explains Lorca. “Such a student not only excels academically but also demonstrates genuine care and concern for the community they serve.”
