Angel Kristine Ang, a third-year Tourism student at Central Philippine University, was elected Regional President of JTHMAP – Western Visayas during the 2025 Regional Halalan held via Zoom on December 1, 2025.

Angel Kristine Ang, a third-year Tourism student from Central Philippine University, has been officially elected as the Regional President of the Junior Tourism and Hospitality Management Association of the Philippines (JTHMAP) – Western Visayas. The Regional Halalan 2025 was conducted on December 1, 2025, via Zoom, with Luzon participants convening at 8:00 AM and Visayas–Mindanao delegates participating at 1:00 PM.

The regional election was held in designated breakout rooms, where each candidate was given five minutes to introduce themselves and present their student campaign profile.

Miss Angel Kristine Ang opened her introduction with a warm greeting and a powerful leadership principle, saying: “Mabuhay and good afternoon, everyone! Let me start introducing myself through this quote: ‘Leaders become great not because of their power, but their ability to empower others.’ I have always been a firm believer of these words from John Maxwell, and I carry this through every leadership journey that I take.”

During her presentation, she showcased an impressive student campaign profile highlighting her academic achievements, leadership roles, professional training, and industry involvement. She also emphasized her multilingual skills—speaking English, Tagalog, Akeanon, Hiligaynon, and Mandarin—which reflect her cultural adaptability and strong communication foundation as a future tourism professional.

Angel concluded her introduction with a message that resonated deeply with delegates:

“With a heart for service and a vision rooted in collaboration, I aim to lead not by authority, but by empowering the voices, talents, and strengths of every member. Together, we can build a more united, proactive, and inspired community for future tourism and hospitality professionals.”

Her authenticity, experience, and commitment to empowerment earned her the trust of the region, securing her election as the Regional President of JTHMAP – Western Visayas for 2025.

Beyond this new leadership mandate, Angel is also the current President of the CPU-CHM Ambassadors and Ambassadresses, where she leads initiatives that promote student involvement, organizational excellence, and institutional pride. She is likewise the Project Head of multiple advocacy-driven events, championing causes centered on service, youth empowerment, community engagement, and sustainable tourism.

Her candidacy and leadership journey were strongly endorsed by the CPU College of Hospitality Management, represented by Asst. Prof. Denie Erwin Tan and Dr. Armando Hisuan Jr., who both recognized her dedication, competence, and passion for the tourism and hospitality field.

With her election, Angel Kristine Ang is set to guide JTHMAP Western Visayas with vision, compassion, and empowerment—upholding the very essence of leadership she stands for.

With unwavering purpose and a passion for empowering others, Angel Kristine Ang steps forward to lead Western Visayas toward a stronger, braver, and more united future in tourism and hospitality.
