CPUR’s 21st Parliament, in partnership with Outreach Students’ Volunteers Society (OSVS), successfully conducted AKSYON Likhang Pinoy on January 17, 2026, in Barangay Lanit, Jaro, empowering 23 Indigenous children through education and community outreach.
The Central Philippine University Republic (CPUR) successfully carried out AKSYON Likhang Pinoy, an educational outreach initiative of the 21st Parliament, on January 17, 2026, at Barangay Lanit, Jaro, Iloilo City. The activity marked another meaningful step in CPUR’s commitment to community engagement, education, and inclusive service, particularly for children and youth from Indigenous Peoples (IP) communities in underserved areas.
In collaboration with the Outreach Students’ Volunteers Society (OSVS), the outreach reached twenty-three (23) children aged seven to sixteen, who belong to the Indigenous Peoples (IP) community in Barangay Lanit. The program provided them with interactive learning experiences, values formation, and essential educational support. True to the spirit of Non Sibi Sed Aliis – “Not for oneself but for others,” AKSYON Likhang Pinoy highlighted the power of collective action in nurturing young minds and fostering hope through education.
The program featured educational discussions on waste management and hygiene and self-care, complemented by engaging activities such as interactive games that encouraged participation and critical thinking. To further support the children’s learning and overall well-being, school supplies, hygiene kits, and snacks were distributed, ensuring that the assistance extended beyond academic learning and addressed daily needs.
The CPUR 21st Parliament extends its heartfelt appreciation to the OSVS volunteers, partner institutions, and all individuals who contributed their time, effort, and dedication to the success of the outreach. Their shared commitment reflects the core values of servant leadership, bayanihan, and compassion that define the Centralian identity.
More than a one-day activity, AKSYON Likhang Pinoy stands as a testament to CPUR’s unwavering dedication to empowering Indigenous Peoples communities through education and meaningful service. As the term continues, CPUR looks forward to more initiatives that uplift lives, inspire young generations, and strengthen the bond between the university and the communities it serves.
