On September 9, 2025, the Acting Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, Dr. Aries Roda D. Romallosa, together along with college outreach coordinators, visited adopted public schools and barangays in rural areas, including Badiang Elementary School and Barangay Badiang in New Lucena, and Culasi Elementary School, Culasi National High School, and Barangay Culasi in Ajuy, Iloilo.
The Acting VPRDE met with barangay officials, school principals, and leaders from various associations to discuss challenges, opportunities, and future development initiatives. Dr. Romallosa gathered their feedback on past engagements, which is essential for shaping the University’s research and extension initiatives.
Selected outreach coordinators from various University departments, including arts and sciences, hospitality management, engineering, business, nursing, computer studies, and medical laboratory sciences, engaged with locals during field visits. Their discussions about local experiences and challenges informed the development of outreach and research initiatives.
The Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension plans to conduct a field visit with outreach coordinators and faculty-researchers to urban barangays, schools, and mangrove sites identified by the Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO).
