Attendees immerse themselves in the discussion, gaining valuable insights on self-care and resilience as Ma’am Dawn Grace Dizon speaks on mental health and well-being.

On December 11, 2024, the College of Computer Studies (CCS) Provincial Council, in partnership with the CCS Guidance Office and the CPU-CCS Peer Facilitators, successfully held a seminar on mental health and well-being at the Mary Thomas Building AVR2 at 3:30 PM. The seminar, titled “A Warrior’s Mentality: Strengthening Mental Health and Well-Being,” emphasized the importance of mental resilience among students.

The initiative received strong support from CCS Dean Ma. Christina Quijano, a dedicated advocate for student well-being and holistic development. Through her leadership, the college continues to foster an environment that prioritizes both academic success and mental wellness.

Serving as the guest speaker was Ma’am Dawn Grace O. Dizon, the committed CCS Guidance Counselor. With her extensive experience in student guidance and support, she has played a crucial role in promoting holistic well-being and assisting students in navigating life’s challenges. Her insights and expertise provided attendees with valuable perspectives on mental health and self-care.

Christina Quijano (1st from right) in recognition of her valuable insights on mental health and well-being.

The seminar underscored that mental health care is a necessity rather than a luxury. It reinforced the idea that seeking help is a sign of strength and self-awareness, rather than a weakness. Students who attended the event left with a deeper appreciation for the significance of mental well-being and a renewed commitment to prioritizing self-care.

Through this initiative, the CCS Provincial Council continues to promote mental health awareness, ensuring that students have access to the resources they need to thrive. As the event concluded, the key message resonated clearly: every warrior deserves not just to survive but to flourish.
