Central Philippine University hosts an international gathering advancing interprofessional nursing education in partnership with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis Health.

A milestone in global nursing education took place on December 9–11, 2025, as the Central Philippine University School of Nursing, in partnership with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis Health, hosted the International Collaborative Interprofessional Education (IPE) Symposium. This international academic gathering brought together nursing educators, healthcare professionals, and students from diverse backgrounds to advance interprofessional learning and strengthen nursing education. The symposium served as a platform for shared expertise, meaningful dialogue, and professional exchange aimed at improving healthcare education and outcomes.

The symposium focused on what interprofessional education looked like in practice and why it was essential in an increasingly complex healthcare environment. Through structured sessions such as best practices in clinical simulation, cancer screening and reproductive health management, and the roles of advanced practice nurses, participants explored how collaborative learning enhanced clinical competence, leadership, and patient-centered care. Tabletop simulations and guided discussions enabled attendees to experience how teamwork across health disciplines improved clinical decision-making and patient safety.

The initiative demonstrated how global academic partnerships strengthened nursing education and highlighted who ultimately benefited students, educators, and the communities they served. By fostering collaboration between institutions and emphasizing community-focused and culturally responsive care, the symposium helped prepare future nurses to deliver high-quality, relevant, and compassionate healthcare. Through reflection, debriefing, and shared commitment, the International Collaborative IPE Symposium marked a significant step toward a more collaborative, responsive, and globally connected nursing profession.
