CPU Psychological Society leaders and participants celebrate another successful year of PsychFest, a beloved tradition for the Psychology community.
The CPU Psychological Society successfully held the second annual PsychFest, themed “Mamma Mia,” at the Rose Memorial Auditorium (RMA) on October 14, 2024. The event, now in its second year, brought together Psychology students and faculty for a day filled with bonding, team-building, and memorable activities.
PsychFest was originally established in 2023 by former CPU Psychological Society President Jayson Estremadura as a way for Psychology students to foster camaraderie and strengthen relationships within their community. This year’s event, organized by the CPU Psychological Society Officers for 2024-2025 alongside Psyche Central, the Creatives Committee, and the Programs Committee, continued that tradition with a dynamic lineup of activities.
The day opened with a morning program that featured team-building games and literary competitions, including poster-making, feature writing, and quiz bee competitions. Participants also attended engaging discussions on two important psychology-related topics: ‘Stress Management’ and ‘How to be a Good Support System.’ These sessions provided valuable insights on mental health and emotional resilience, focusing on effective stress management strategies and the importance of supportive relationships.
The afternoon portion of the PsychFest showcased the annual PsychVoice competition, a dress-to-impress contest, and a lively singing bee. The event concluded with participants enjoying the music and camaraderie.
PsychFest Year 2 once again highlighted the importance of community, collaboration, and shared experiences. It has established itself as a beloved tradition among CPU Psychology students, offering them not only a chance to unwind but also an opportunity to develop deeper connections within their academic community.
