Non-CARES Centralian Alumni at the closing ceremony of the Reunion in the South.

The CPU Reunion in the South, organized by Centralians in support of their beloved institution, was a resounding success. This remarkable event was made possible thanks to the ingenious idea of Blanquita ‘Kit’ Garcia, President of CPUCARES Alumni Association, who proposed incorporating a student recruitment program into the Mindanao convergence of 2023. Dr. Amy Castigador, CPU Director of the Office of Institutional Advancement, deserves recognition for her role in providing Dr. Kit with presentation fliers about CPU, which were subsequently distributed to several Senior High Schools in Norala, South Cotabato. The day was dedicated to visiting these Senior High Schools and sharing informative videos about the history and essence of Central.

Subsequently, Centralians and CARES Alumni, along with other attendees, gathered at Castin’s Catering Place. Here, they savored delectable, fresh organic dishes while enjoying the vast expanse of greenery and an array of delicious seasonal fruits and vegetables. The credit for this delightful dining experience goes to Engr. Ed Castin and his enchanting resort. Castin, a creative Centralian, has ingeniously repurposed ‘throwaways’ into flowerpots, home decor, and horticultural fences, contributing to the unique ambiance.

Castin, motivated by the challenging topographical and cultural aspects of the region, has strived to offer the utmost enjoyment and comfort to his guests. This time, he generously provided his fellow Centralian Alumni with the chance to take home cherished Norala memorabilia.

After the memorable reunion, Centralians set out on an adventure to explore various exotic destinations in Cotabato, Gensan, and Davao.

The most remarkable highlight of the Centralian Trip took place at Punta Isla Resort, located on the serene and picturesque Lake Sebu, situated within the municipality of Lake Sebu. There, they relished a delectable lunch on board a dining ship, indulging in gourmet meals and entertainment while floating serenely on the lake.

With eager anticipation for more such adventures, stay tuned for the next issue of the Weekly Centralian Link.
