CPUDHS batch of 81 gathers for a commemorative group photo after their lunch at the Educational Media Center. Celebrating 45 years of camaraderie and continued excellence.

The CPUDHS Class of 1981 recently marked a significant milestone, celebrating their 45th annual reunion and general assembly on January 31, 2026, at the Educational Media Center. Under the theme “Great is thy faithfulness – 45 years and counting,” the event brought together both alumni and their former teachers for a morning of deep reflection and fellowship preceding the formal fellowship dinner. The program officially commenced with an opening prayer led by Pastor Dante Viado, followed by a stirring rendition of the national anthem and the alma mater led by Engr. Vitini Edhard Idemne.

A central highlight of the morning was the inspirational message delivered by Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, who addressed the attendees in a spirit of nostalgia and camaraderie. He reminded the group of what it truly means to be a “Centralian” and urged them to continue striving for excellence in all their endeavors. He framed the gathering with a poignant reminder: “your agenda is not to have fun, but to celebrate great friendships.” This sentiment was echoed as the group stood in respect for CPU’s original hymn, “Oh Central, Our Central,” which was followed by a heartwarming slideshow documenting the university’s rich history through its students from the past to the present. Class President Joe Arlin Divinagracia then officially opened the assembly with his welcome remarks.

The assembly also focused on the enduring legacy of the CPU Alumni Association (CPUAAI). President Anita Illenberger highlighted the importance of the association, noting that alumni serve as living examples whose presence continues to persist and inspire. This commitment to the future was further evidenced by Bgen Ezra James Enriquez, Chair of the Scholarship Committee, who provided a background on the CPUDHS Class Scholarship fund. The event served as a platform to recognize both past and present scholars, two of whom performed a special dance number as a creative expression of gratitude for the benefits granted to them under the program.

Administrative matters and officer reports formed the next segment of the program. Treasurer Griselda Jovero provided a detailed financial rundown of the scholarship fund as of January 24, demonstrating the tangible impact of the class’s donations. Secretaries Rosielyn Manajero and Deneel Pulido extended their thanks to the many supporters who have facilitated reunions and other events over the years. Finally, President Joe Arlin Divinagracia presented his report, listing the current officers of Class 1981 and awarding them honorary bouquets for their dedicated service.

As the morning session drew to a close, the group played the original hymn “Central Spirit” before holding the election for the 2026-2027 class officers, led by Jean Marie Godinez. The program ended on a solemn yet hopeful note with a moment of silence for late classmates and a prayer for lunch by Pastor Noel Maciado. The event was commemorated with a final group photo, capturing the enduring bond of a class that remains “Centralian” at heart.
