Professorial chair and incentive awardees for the Academic Year 2023-2024.

A total of thirty-nine faculty members received Professorial Chair and Incentive Awards at the CPU Educational Media Center last April 2, 2024. There were 15 Professorial Chair Awardees and 24 Incentive Awardees who received a cash award of P15,000.00, a medal, and a certificate.

Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy delivered his welcome remarks and greetings to the attendees of the said event. “In this ceremony, we recognize 39 faculty members for their valuable recognitions to the academic pursuit of this University,” he said.

Rev. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on, Director of the CPU Office of Communications, served as the meditation speaker during the awarding ceremony. He shared six points from the “Central Spirit” song by Rev. Dr. Francis Howard Rose. “Central students are called not only to gain knowledge but also to seek wisdom and insight, allowing them to navigate the vast horizons of life with discernment and purpose. And I hope we can continue to provide that with our students,” he emphasized.

The giving of awards was assisted by Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, CPU President, Engr. Dany C. Molina, CPU Vice President for Administration; Dr. Esther Rose A. Romarate, CPU Vice President for Student Affairs; Dr. April Ann B. De La Gente, Chairperson of PCI Awards Committee AY 23–24; and Rev. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on, Director of the CPU Office of Communications.

Dr. April Ann B. De La Gente, Chairperson of the Professorial Chair and Incentive Awards Committee, expressed her heartfelt message to the esteemed awardees. “Your contributions to this university are immeasurable, and your impact will be felt for generations to come. May you continue to inspire us with your passion, your dedication, and your unwavering commitment to the pursuit of truth,” she remarked.

The response from the awardees was given by Dr. Carmen N. Hernandez, a Professorial Chair Awardee from the College of Business and Accountancy. She emphasized that this awarding ceremony shows how the university cares, acknowledges, and celebrates outstanding accomplishments for the awardees. “As we navigate the intricate landscape of employee engagement, it becomes evident then that awards are not just a supplementary element but a crucial catalyst for enhancing our efficacy.”
