Participants in this year’s 12th LitAwards posed for a picture after receiving their certificates and tokens.
The Central Echo, the official student media of Central Philippine University, proudly hosted the 12th LitAwards, a prestigious event celebrating literary excellence among students. The awarding ceremony took place on May 23, 2024, at the Gallery Room, 4th floor of the Henry Luce III Library.
The ceremony commenced with the singing of the national anthem and an opening prayer, setting a reverent tone for the occasion. Danica Mae Hablado, Editor-in-Chief and Paulette Torrico, Literary Editor, hosted the ceremony ensuring a seamless flow of event memorable for all attendees.
Dr. Esther Rose Romarate, CPU Vice President for Student Affairs, delivered her welcome remarks, acknowledging the hard work and creativity of the participants and setting an enthusiastic mood for the event.
Attendees had the opportunity to mingle and enjoy refreshments, fostering a sense of community and shared passion for the literary arts. A brief segment provided background on the LitAwards, highlighting their significance in nurturing young writers and artists.
The highlight of the event, the awarding ceremony, recognized outstanding works in various categories. Certificates of Participation and tokens were distributed, followed by Certificates of Recognition and cash prizes for the winners in the categories of Short Story, Maikling Kuwento, Photography, Poetry, Tula, and Illustration.
