CPU College Aptitude Test (CPUCAT) for Incoming Freshmen (SY 2025-2026)

🔍 What is the CPU CAT?
The CPUCAT is a standardized test designed to assess your readiness for college and to guide you in selecting the right course for your future at Central Philippine University.

📅 Who needs to take it?

  • All incoming college freshmen.
  • Transfer students and shiftees.
  • Other applicants as deemed necessary.

📜 Requirements:

  2. School ID, passport or any valid ID

📌 Important reminders:
1. Present the following during onsite verification:
a. Valid school ID or any government-issued ID with your picture (please ensure that this is the same ID used in the online application)
b. Hard copy or screenshot of the official receipt
c. Mongol pencil No. 2 with eraser
2. Be at the venue thirty (30) minutes before your test.
3. Please dress neatly and appropriately.

CPU COLLEGE APTITUDE TEST FOR INCOMING FRESHMEN COLLEGE STUDENTS SY 2025 – 2026

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1 . What is the process of CPUCAT?

Answer:

  1. Pay the CPUCAT fee (non-refundable P450) through any of the following:
    1. CPU Business Office Window 15 or 16 except holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Use account number A456 (CPUCAT Fee) when paying.
    2. Online banking (see list of payment centers here: https://cpu.edu.ph/payment-options/ . Please write in the purpose: CPUCAT Fee.
    3. Palawan Express Padala (Please write in the purpose: CPUCAT Fee)
  2. Fill out the CPUCAT online application form: https://cpu.edu.ph/cpu-college-aptitude-test-cpucat/.
  3. Wait for an email confirmation. If you do not receive a confirmation within seven working days from the date of your email application, you may contact the CPU InfoCenter at infocenter@cpu.edu.p
  4. Take the CPUCAT on the scheduled date and time as confirmed by the email from CPU.
  5. Check for test results which will be released by email three (3) weeks from the date of test.

2. When is the ON-CAMPUS CPUCAT?

 Answer:

December 14 & 21, 2024                           March 1 & 22, 2025

January 11 & 18, 2025                                April 5 & 12, 2025

February 1 & 15, 2025                                May 10, 17, 24 & 31, 2025

Test time:       8:00 AM to 11:30 AM (Morning batch)

1:00 PM to 4:30 PM (Afternoon batch)

3. Where is the ON-CAMPUS CPUCAT venue?

Answer: CPU Senior High School Building        

NOTE: There will be lists of examinees posted on the doors of testing rooms. Test venues are equipped with CCTV cameras. (Privacy notice: By entering the examination venue and classroom, the examinee agrees to the capturing, recording, retaining, processing, and sharing of all information obtained by CCTV cameras).

4. Will there be OFF-CAMPUS CPUCAT?

Answer: Yes, off-campus CPUCAT is scheduled as shown here:  https://cpu.edu.ph/cpu-college-aptitude-test-cpucat/.  For updated schedule and venues for off-campus CPUCAT and other inquiries, please contact the CPU InfoCenter. Contact details are as shown in question 16 below.

5. Are there online exams available for individuals residing in Luzon, Mindanao, and other countries?

Answer: Currently, there are no online exams offered.

6. I will enroll for the second semester for SY 2024-2025, am I required to take the CPUCAT?

Answer: Yes, you are required to take the CPUCAT.

7. I have taken the CPUCAT for SY 2024-2025, but I did not enroll during the first semester, am I required to take the CPUCAT if I enroll for the second semester?

Answer:    No, you are no longer required to take the CPUCAT since the results are valid for one school year. Kindly bring a copy of your results to your prospective college during enrollment.

8. What are the requirements during online application and actual test?

Answer:

A. During online application:

i. Picture or screenshot of the official receipt; and
ii. Picture of School I.D., passport, or any government-issued ID with picture and signature

B. During the test:

i. School I.D., passport, or any government-issued ID with picture and signature (The same ID which was uploaded when you filled out the CPUCAT application form)
ii. Hard copy of the official receipt of payment of CPUCAT fee
iii. Pencil No. 2 with eraser

9. What is the coverage of CPUCAT?

Answer: The CPUCAT is designed to measure an individual’s aptitude across a range of cognitive abilities and skills.

10. How long is the test?

Answer: 3 hours

11. Is there a reviewer for CPUCAT?

Answer: None.

12. Is the CPUCAT a pass/fail assessment?

Answer:  The CPUCAT results will not be categorized as ‘Pass’ or ‘Fail’; instead, they will display scores for each section of the test.

Each academic program/course has a specific evaluation system based on certain criteria related to the program’s requirements.

13. What are the academic programs of CPU?

14. If I fail to take the test on my chosen schedule, may I reschedule?

Answer: If you fail to appear on your preferred schedule, you may reschedule only once. You will have to fill out the application form again and put in the REMARKS “reschedule from [insert your original schedule]”

15. Can I enroll in an academic program different from what I indicated on my CPUCAT application form?

Answer:  Yes, you may enroll in a different academic program, provided you meet the requirements for your chosen course of study.
