During the ISO Surveillance Audit held at the Henry Luce III Library on July 3,2024.

Dear Centralian family,

CPU has successfully retained its ISO 9001:2015 certification, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining high standards in education and operational excellence. The audit, conducted from July 1 to 3, 2024, by Certification International Philippines (CIP), verified the University’s adherence to ISO Surveillance Audit standards, which encompass rigorous requirements for quality management systems. The successful completion of the said audit underscores CPU’s efforts to continuously improve its operations to better serve its students, faculty and staff, alumni, and other stakeholders.

On July 14–20, I will be attending the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA) Heads of Institution Strategy Summit in Singapore. Co-organized by UBCHEA and Singapore Management University, this summit provides the opportunity for heads of institutions in Asia (Indonesia, Thailand, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Myanmar with total 30 participants) to discuss and design a unique and impactful program that will advance Christian higher education leadership excellence in Asia. CPU’s representation at this summit signals our commitment to international engagement and collaboration, which can improve our linkages with partner institutions in the region.

As the CPU Golden Lions athletes embark on their journey to represent our University in the Palarong Pambansa in Cebu City and the National PRISAA in Legazpi City, let us stand by them, knowing that they carry the Central Spirit as they participate in these national events. To our athletes, remember to compete with determination, and may your efforts shine brightly – bringing glory not only to yourselves but also to our Alma Mater. Also, we are grateful for the generosity of Centralians who are helping our athletes in any way they can.

Imagine a space where the vibrant history of our University and its profound impact on society are meticulously preserved, curated, and showcased. As an update, initial conversations have already commenced with regards to the establishment of CPU’s historical museum. The museum will house a treasure trove of memorabilia, artifacts, literature produced by renowned Ilonggo authors, Hinilawod epic chant recordings, Ninfa Querubin’s artworks, rare collections of World War II documents, 40,000+ United Nations documents, Meyer-Asian collection, Food and Agriculture Organization and Elizabeth Knox Sacred Music collection, Nursing collection, and many others. Remembering the past will help us look into the future with confidence and excitement.

CPU celebrates the promotion of Major General Luis Rex D. Bergante to a three-star General Officer rank. His promotion serves as a source of pride and inspiration for the entire Centralian community. It underscores the effectiveness of our educational programs in nurturing individuals who can thrive in their respective fields. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Lieutenant General Luis Rex D. Bergante, PA (Commander, EASTMINCOM, AFP) for this achievement. We look forward to witnessing your continued success and the positive impact you will undoubtedly have on your work and beyond.

With the underpinning of Scientia et Fides and great determination, we can achieve anything we set our minds to – all for the glory of God.
