To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all the alumni of Central Philippine University planning to attend the 2025 Global Reunion in Toronto, Canada, we’ve prepared a detailed step-by-step guide. This event is looked forwarded to as a memorable gathering, offering wonderful opportunity to reconnect with fellow Centralians, celebrate our shared heritage, and create new memories.

Here are the suggested steps to prepare for this event:

1. Reunion Pre-Registration

This document may be presented to the visa officer. Begin your journey by securing your spot at the reunion. Pre-register using the official 2025 reunion registration form. This early step is crucial for us to anticipate the number of attendees and tailor the event to make it as engaging and meaningful as possible for everyone.

b. Obtain physical forms at the CPU Alumni Association Office, or the CPU Office of Communications

2. Invitation Letter:

Once registered, you will be issued an invitation letter to the event which may be used for your visa application if you need to have one to enter Canada.

Invitation Letters are available at the following offices:
a. CPU Alumni Association Office c/o Tina Hortelano
b. CPU Office of Communications c/o Rev. Francis Neil Jalandoon

3. Visa Requirements:

Information can be accessed directly from the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website: https://www.ircc.canada.ca/english/visit/visas.asp

This step is crucial for a hassle-free entry into Canada, ensuring you have ample time to prepare all necessary documents.

Visa Application Process

If you determine that you need a visa, please refer to the comprehensive document checklist provided by the Canadian Immigration website: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/apply-visitor-visa.html to gather all required documents:
a. The application form itself- form IMM5257
b. The instruction sheet on how to fill out the application form.
c. Specific instructions for visiting Canada.
d. Processing fee of $100.00 and $85.00 biometrics fee.
e. Letter of invitation to the embassy from CPU Alumni Association.
The letter is available in hard copy at the:
• Office of Communications or
• CPUAAI Office.

It is important to complete the form correctly. You must include your complete contact information and your date of birth. Some conditions that may assist approval, but not limited to the following:
• Proof of financial support, proof of sufficient funds to cover expenses for the duration of your visit. A bank statement covering the last six months showing the balance of the account. Any other additional relevant documentation, pay slips, investments.
• Travel history
• A valid passport
• Invitation Letter from the CPUAAGTA Global Reunion Committee
• Travel Itinerary – Include the schedule of activities of the global reunion.
• Proof of ties to your home country, a letter of employment on an official company letterhead specifying your position, length of employment and income. Supporting documents of your business and other property assets.

Thorough preparation and early application are key to avoiding any delays in your visa approval.

4. Accommodation and Travel Plans

Once your attendance is confirmed and your travel documents are in order, it’s time to plan your stay in Toronto. We encourage you to explore accommodation options early to take advantage of early bird rates and secure your preferred lodging. CPUAAGTA has blocked hotel rooms right at the hotel where the event will take place at the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel & Conference Center. indicated in the registration form.

5. Fellowship and Events

The Global Reunion will feature a variety of activities, from formal gatherings to class meet-ups, cultural tours, and networking events. Keep an eye on updates from the organizing committee to learn about the events planned. This is your chance to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and expand your network within the Centralian community. Bring appropriate clothing to the event, July is mid-summer season. The gala night is a formal occasion with a formal dress-code. Bring your gown and Filipiniana outfit or another formal outfit.

6. Explore Toronto

While in Toronto for the reunion, take the opportunity to explore the city’s vibrant culture, historical landmarks, and natural beauty. Whether you’re interested in arts and entertainment, dining and shopping, or outdoor adventures, Toronto has a lot to offer everyone. Make the most of your visit by experiencing the diversity and energy of Canada’s largest city.

Two tours are part of the Reunion Schedule:

a. Niagara Falls Tour – The bus fare is not included in the registration cost: $40.00 US or $55.00 CAD. Alumni have a choice to drive to Niagara Falls or via bus tour. The Niagara Falls tour includes a free picnic lunch. Make sure to indicate if you are planning to travel via tour bus and include the bus fare payment on your registration cost.

b. Toronto Downtown Tour – is accessible by public transportation. The host is going to provide a guide on a few sites of interest in downtown Toronto. The cost of the tour is not covered in the registration cost.

7. Stay Informed
